'Don Cristóbal'.
Ángel Umpierrez studied architecture for four years, followed by two years of sculpting. In 1934, he made his debut in comics with 'Una Aventura en Africa'. From 1936 to 1939 he was an artist for La Tribuna Popular. In 1942 he started his series 'Don Cristóbal' in Ultimas Noticias, which was soon published in dailies all over the continent. Other comics created by Umpierrez are 'Doña Lala' (1945) and 'El Falso Duque Bobadilla' (1947).
