'La Reine Margot' (1972).

Valentin was a mysterious late-20th century French artist, active in the French press during the 1970s. He should not be confused with the Belgian comic artist Valentin Dufrasne, who also signed with "Valentin".

La Reine Margot
Between 5 September and 28 November 1972, Valentin drew the text comic serial 'La Reine Margot' for the French regional newspaper L'Écho du Centre. In 100 episodes, it told the story of Marguerite of Valois (1553-1615), who became Queen of Navarre by her marriage to Henry III of Navarre and then also Queen of France at her husband's 1589 accession to the throne as Henry IV. The comic is based on Alexandre Dumas' classic novel 'La Reine Margot' (1845), about this female monarch.
