Les Caprices de Lilian (Les Belles Images, 18-9-1924)
Louis Valvérane was a French comic artist from the early 20th century. Born in Manosque, he made his debut as a caricatural illustrator in Le Chat Noir in 1896. He then worked for La Chronique Amusante, Polichinelle, Le Bon Vivant, Rabelais and Le Rire. As a comic artist, he was mainly active for Les Belles Images. For this magazine, he drew 'Le Trésor de la Tête Grise' in 1912.
He was also present in the magazines published by Arthème Fayard, such as La Jeunesse Illustrée and Diabolo Journal. For the latter, he made among others 'Le Cheval Marin' in 1916. Valvérane was specialized in great movements of crowds with backgrounds running through several panels.
