El Violin by Vicente Vano
El Violín (SOS # 2, 1975)

Born in Valencia in 1947, Vicente Vañó Ibarra was the son of Eduardo Vañó Pastor and the younger brother of Eduardo Vañó Ibarra. About the late 1950s the two brothers joined their father to work as a team on his series 'Milton, el Corsario' and 'Roberto Alcázar y Pedrín', especially on the latter. Both series were drawn by Eduardo Vañó Pastor for publisher Valenciana from their beginning. His sons participated in the production of 'Roberto Alcázar y Pedrín' until its disappearance in 1976. In the 1970s Vicente Vañó also did 'Juan Mestizo' for Valenciana. This was published in magazine Jaimito. In addition he contributed horror stories to Valenciana's magazine SOS when it appeared in 1975.

The Vañó brothers devoted a considerable part of their output to the foreign market. About 1965 they started working for the United Kingdom through the agency Bardon Art. In the late 1970s and early 1980s they worked for the Italian publisher Universo, contributing to magazines Monello, Albo dell'Intrepido and Bliz. They also worked for other European countries like France, Germany and Belgium through the agency Norma. They worked with the Danish writer Per Sanderhage on the action comic 'Bravo Tango' and the LEGO advertising comic 'Sjørøverne og gullmedaljongen'. One of their foreign series also found its way to the Spanish market with the title 'Buscando la Muerte' in horror magazine Dossier Negro in the late 1970s and early 1980s.
