Born in Figeac, Jean-Christophe Vergne has been an amateur of drawing and history all his life. In 1988, he commenced working as an ornamental painter, until he changed his focus to more artistic painting in 1993. He began an art school, where he taught until 1995. In the following years, he did restauration work and got his degree in plastic arts. In 2000, he took over the artwork of the historical series 'Le Coeur de Lion' at the publishing house Assor BD (script by Eriamel).
