Rogério Vilela is a Brazilian cartoonist and illustrator, who has won various priezes. He has made illustrations for magazines like Veja, Playboy, Placar, Exame, Época, O Estado de S. Paulo, Folha de S. Paulo (and its supplement Folhateen), and Super Interessante. He has drawn comics for Metal Pesado, Heavy Metal Brazil and the Front comic book, and edited the art book of Fábrica de Quadrinhos art school, of which he is co-founder. He is head of the Fábrica's production of videos and animations for TV and internet. Vilela is art director with several agencies in Sao Paulo, doing storyboards, layouts and webdesign.
In 1990, he was part of the wave of Brazilian artists that went to work in US comic books. He did the miniseries 'Lucifer's Hammer' for Innovation Comics, and worked on Marvel's 'X-Men' and 'Dr. Strange: Portrait of a Universe'. He has done a lot of illustration work for RPG's like 'Magic: the Gathering'.
