Eugen von Baumgarten

Eugen von Baumgarten was a German painter, illustrator, caricaturist and artist. Born in Munich, he made drawings for magazines like Münchener Humoristischen Blättern (1885), Der Bayrische Kladderadatsch (1895), Kikeriki-Kalender (Tageblatt), Geißel, Oktoberfest-Zeitungen and Jugend. He made political cartoons under the pen name E. Vaube between 1916 and 1918. Regular themes in his work were the Bavarian environment, current affairs and politics. He also designed posters, advertisements and postcards for Münchener Brauhäuser and the Oktoberfest, and ran his own publishing house.
