John Welten is a self-taught cartoonist and comic artist from the Dutch village Deurne in the province North Brabant. He is specialized in caricatures and sports cartoons, just like his main influence Dik Bruynesteyn. He also ranks Uco Egmond and Jan van Haasteren among his artistic inspirations. Welten has made topical soccer cartoons for the Royal Dutch Football Association (KNVB), and political and general cartoons for the news site nieuws.nl. He is a regular cartoonist for voetbalflitsen.nl and other soccer-related websites, and he makes the comics for the soccer magazine PANNA!.
'De Voetbal Vlogger'. Translation: "In my daily vlog I'll tell a joke. Attention people! What do you call a football player with blond hair?! A dumb blonde! Football players have no sense of humor."
