Life and career
No information is known about Wijnvoord's background. Over the course of 1976, his comic strips and cartoons appeared in Flitsen, the monthly staff magazine of the Albert Heijn supermarket chain. While in the January 1976 issue a wide range of characters was prominently introduced (Duffie, Cheffie, Snoepie, Alfredo, G.E. Hakt), his final strip already appeared in the March 1976 issue, after which Wijnvoord continued to make one-panel cartoons until the end of the year. In the second half of the 1980s, Mario Wijnvoord made album cover illustrations for AV Music Publishers, a Dutch company for production music for video, film, television, radio and advertising.
