Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Question :

How can I get myself listed on the Comiclopedia?

If you are a published comic artist, please mail biographical information with a focus on your career in comics to Lambiek. Also include (links to) some samples of your published comics work.

We would like to know the following:

  • When and where were you born?
  • Do you come from an artistic family, what were/are your parents' professions?
  • What education did you have?
  • Who are your main artistic influences?
  • What comics did you publish and where? Preferably include dates and publishers/magazines/newspapers.
  • We would also like a (short) description of what your comics are about. Are there any recurring themes in your work?
  • What are your other activities outside of comics? For instance in the field of graphic art, illustration, fine art, or in music?
  • Have you won any awards with your work?
  • Whatever you would seem necessary to mention.

Please keep in mind that the Comiclopedia only lists comic artists that have published their work in print, or have a substantial online following. Comic writers are not our focus, but can be included if they have substantial (or distinctive) body of work. Due to undercapacity, we are not including single-panel cartoonists, colorists or publishers (at the moment). Since the Comiclopedia is maintained by two volunteers, it can take a while before all the information is processed.
We are looking forward to hear from you!
