Finally! It’s here!! Our new site with webstore included, has been online for a couple of months now and we’re getting quite some orders, as well as enthusiastic response, feedback and tips to improve our site. Thank you so much for all of this.
It all began in 1994 when two customers of ours named Liz and Wendy familiarized us with the world wide web. After setting up a small site, Rick came into the picture and things started to really take shape. Together with Kees and later Bas and Margreet, Rick has kept on developing the site for the following 18 years.
About 4 years ago, we started of with the ideas for a new webstore with Michel, but building it turned out to be too complex for him. Afterwards Ronald Zeelenberg, the creator of www.stripdatabase.nl offered to take over the project. But since he was working in his own time on a ‘no cure no pay basis’, the project became too big to combine it with his own work and the stripdatabase. We’re gratefull for all the time he’s been putting into it. Ronald, we owe you one!
Luckily third time's a charme. Through Peter Pontiac we got in touch with web designer J.W, who previously had designed Peters new website. He recommended Dirk Zaal (Digizaal) to take care of the technical part of the site. Together they succeeded in pulling this job off and it has to be said, it’s a fine job indeed! Thanks a million, guys!
Furthermore Bas Schuddeboom and Margreet de Heer are steadily adding new artists to the Comiclopedia. They’re continuing the live work of Kees Kousemaker with great spirit and enthusiasm. If they wouldn’t have been so ‘fanatic’ about the Comiclopedia, the result would have been, to say the least… poorer.
Joost Halbertsma was approached to create the promotion flyer. Joost is a graphic designer who’s also building exhibitions. We're very happy with the result and it seems that everyone we sent one is too. Thanks Joost for this fantastic piece of graphical art!
Meanwhile the Lambiek-team (Klaas, Abel, Marko, Lot en Jur) and owner Boris Kousemaker are busy filling the webstore with large amounts of interesting books found in the store and in the storage as well; antiquarian books, american underground of the 60’s and 70’s, newest editions, silkscreens, originals and much more. Still every day new articles are added and we will continue to be busy for quite some time.
So we hope you’ll enjoy the fruits of our labour. Please keep helping us to improve our site by providing feedback. And finally thanks to all the people that have helped us to put this thing together but whom we forgot to mention here.
Boris, Klaas, Abel, Marko, Lot, Bas, Margreet, Jurrien, Coen, Vincent and Rick.
