Cut-out Shapes, Secondhand Daylight (March 2010)

5 March 2010

The versatile Dutch artist Wasco opened his new exposition, 'Cut-out Shapes, Secondhand Daylight', in Galerie Lambiek on Friday, 5 March 2010 at 5:00 PM in a cosy setting.

With his self-published books, Wasco has created a colourful oeuvre, and gathered a large and loyal following since the eighties. He is a regular contributor to comic magazine Zone 5300, and each year he participates in the 24 Hour Comics Day event at Lambiek. Wasco strongly believes in affordable art, so he makes pieces of art to fit every budget.

For this occasion, Wasco took his scissors and created some cut-outs for the heart and soul of the exposition. Aside from these, there are drawings, collages and other art objects on view. Of course Wasco was present to sign his books amid the inevitable raising of glasses. The exposition was on view until the end of March 2010.
