'Daredevil' #373 (1998).

Richie Acosta is an American comic artist and illustrator, whose comic book work has included a 1998 'Daredevil' fill-in issue for Marvel Comics and cover art for several indie publishers.

Early life
Born in Oklahoma City in 1971, Richie Acosta got interested in comics through his older brother. Already at age five, it was his dream to become a comic artist. He eventually studied Illustration at FIT NYC, and Graphic Design at the School of Visual Arts in New York City.

Comic book work
After meeting Rich Buckler at the NYC Comicon in 1993, Acosta joined this comic artist in his Visage Studios, assisting him on the inking of 'Mr. T and the T-Force' for Now Comics, a celebrity comic book based on popular TV and film star Mr. T. Acosta also helped with work for other publishers. Later that decade, Acosta additionally penciled pin-ups related to titles published by Event Comics, Harris, Valiant Comics and Image Comics, and was a digital artist for Fleer on Joe Quesada's 'QFX' trading card series.

In 1996, Acosta worked on staff in the advertising and promotions department of Marvel Comics. When the company ran behind schedule for its 'Daredevil' issue #373 (1998) - at the time was written by Joe Kelly and penciled by Ariel Olivetti - editor Jaye Gardner hired Acosta as a fill-in artist. Bud LaRosa inked Acosta's pencil work.

Later career
For many years, this 'Daredevil' issue remained Richie Acosta's only comic book work, because in 2000 he transitioned from comics to video games and publishing. Acosta went on to create character designs and illustrations for the PS2 game 'Midnight Club' for Rockstar Games, and illustrated a comic style advertisement for Discover magazine.

In 2024, he returned to the comic industry, penciling cover art for indie publishers like Blue Shack Comics ('Oncoar' #3, 'Rhonan Riley' #3), Lenovations Press ('Section 12' #7) and Disinter Comics ('Plague' #1 and 'Disinter' #4).

'Section 12' and 'Plague'.
