Gianni Agnello's comics career started in 1964, when he became one of the main contributors to the magazine Leonardo of the publishing house Imperia. Agnello drew the realistic series 'Zampano', as well as some humorous 'Pinocchio' stories. At the publishing house Alpe, he took over the western 'Fox lo Sceriffo' from Giorgio Rebuffi, and worked on other characters like 'Polso di Ferro'.
