Jommeke by Sarina Ahmad

Sarina Ahmad (born Sarina Nys) is the granddaughter of 'Jommeke' creator Jef Nys. She worked as a sound engineer for Belgian television for several years, but had to quit because of medical reasons. She has since then walked in her grandfather's footsteps, drawing 'Jommeke'. Her first book, 'Het Nianmonster', was the 278th installment in the series, and appeared in December 2015. She made the design for the 'Jommeke' comic book mural in the Rue de la Chanterelle / Lokvogelstraat in Laeken, Brussels, which was inaugurated on 20 May 2015 as part of the Brussels' Comic Book Route. Ahmad also designed a 'Jommeke' mural in Wilrijk, at the corner of the Heistraat and the Gaston Fabrelaan. Inaugurated on 8 November 2017, it is currently the largest of its kind in Flanders.
