Behiç Ak was born in Samsun, Turkey. After his studies in architecture, he drew the comic series 'Kim Kime Dum Duma' for a period of seventeen years. In this series, published in the magazine Cumhuryet, Ak satirized the everyday life in his country. In addition to making comics, Ak has written children's books in Turkey, Japan and Germany, as well as theater plays (his piece 'The Building' won him the title "Best Turkish Theatre Writer" in 1993). For the Japanese market, he created the animal comic 'Mau Mai Mi', which is published in the monthly Yoiko No Gakushu.
