Captain Doom, by Vincent Alascia

Vince Alascia was an artist of the Golden Age of Comics. In the 1940s, he worked for Timely/Marvel, where he was among others the creator of the 'American Avenger' (USA Comics, 1942). He also worked on 'Captain America' in All Select Comics and All Winners Comics, either as an penciller or as an inker. Other Timely credits include 'The Young Allies' in Kid Comics and several features in Marvel Mystery Comics.

He left Timely in 1948 and did art jobs for Avon (inking for Martin Nodell). He became a productive artist of war and western comics for Charlton Comics soon afterwards. He worked a lot with Charles Nicholas and writer Joe Gill between 1953 and 1976 as inker on a variety of crime, suspense, mystery, SF, war, western and romance titles, including comics as 'Purkey Smith' and 'Captain Doom' (both from 'Outlaws of the West'). As a penciller, he contributed to Tales of the Mysterious Traveler (1956).
