Devil Doone, by Hart Amos

Hart Amos was born in Lindfield, New South Wales, Australia, in 1916. He studied drawing and painting at East Sydney Technical College between 1933 and 1937, after which he served in the army until 1945. After the war, he started working as a freelance comic artist for the K.G. Murray Publishing Company. He worked on the series 'The Lost Patrol', 'The Moon Mirror', 'Stark the Stoneage Man' and 'Devil Doone' (from 1946 until 1969, written by R. Carson Gold).

Hart Amos also worked for Climax Comics, where he drew for 'Kidnap Cavern', 'Queen of the Green Men', 'Magicat', 'Fore and Aft', 'Hambone the Hunter', 'Doc Foozle', 'Hurricane Hardy' and 'Road Hog'. In addition, he did covers for Australian reprints of DC comics, like 'Superman' and 'Batman', and ghosted on John Dixon's 'Air Hawk' strip from 1970 to 1977. He retired from the comics field in 1977.
