Asante was an Egyptian comic artist, mostly active in the 1950s. He was one of the original artists of the comics weekly Samir, published by the magazine Dar Al-Hilal since 1956. He mostly made cover illustrations and centre spreads for this magazine. He also made contributions to satirical magazines like Sabah el Kheir (literally translated: "Good Morning"), Rose El Youssef and the variety magazine Al Guil. After the 1950s, not much is known about Asante, much like his colleague El Millegui.
