Atiza was one of the early Spanish comic artists. Following the example of William Randolph Hearst, the Madrid based daily ABC launched the comics supplement Gente Menuda in 1907. Atiza was one of the artists for this supplement, for which he created comics like 'La Terquedad de Gorito' (1908). Prior to Gente Menuda, Atiza's work was featured in Nuevo Mundo.
