René Atlass is an artist from Antwerp, who was active in the field of comics during the late 1960s and the first half of the 1970s. In 1968 and 1969, he drew a couple of short stories starring the character 'Doudi' for Tintin. From 1970 until 1975 he was irregularly present in Spirou with the slapstick comic stories of the characters 'Jules et César'. René Atlass spent several years in the United States, where he apparently worked on a comic strip called 'Little Skimmy' for Random House, and where he participated in Ross Andru and Mike Esposito's ill-faited underground comic book Up Your Nose And Out Your Ear.
