Gino Baldo is a famous Italian illustrator of the 1930s and 1940s. He studied in Paris, where he sold his first humorous drawings. He collaborated to numerous magazines from a very young age. For the color supplement of Corriere de la Serra, Baldo created such comic characters as 'Procopio' (1939) and 'Sor Pedante Pelnevallo' (1945). Other creations are 'Cippirin Cippirimerlo' and 'Capitan Ponzipò'. Gino Baldo has illustrated several books for children, most notably the oeuvre of Jules Verne.
