Luis Baldoceda was born in Lima. He began his career in the mid-1960s as a contributor to a magazine of Correo Central. In 1973, he worked as poster and folder artist for the Unidad de Artes Gráficas del Sinamos.
Since November 1974, he drew 'Teodosio' and the science fiction series 'Arriba Siempre Arriba' (later renamed to 'Explorando el Cosmos') in the supplement Fin de Semana of La Crónica. 'Teodosio' ran until 1980, and 'Explorando el Cosmos' until 1975. In 1977, he created 'Pichanguita' for Ojo, which ran for three-and-a-half year.
