Jari Pekka Cuypers is a German painter and cartoonist, who is active under the artist name Jari Banas. Born in Finland, he grew up and was raised in the German towns Goch and Krefeld. He wrote the first German eco-comic 'Die Wyhlmaus' in 1978. He is also known for his annual enviromental calendar, and his political comics 'Das Kapital' (1980) and 'Die 68er' (1981). He has additionally been active as a painter on canvas (and pizza boxes!) since the 1980s.
