Asimba Bathy is a self-taught comic artist from Congo, as well as a reporter and video editor. He has contributed his work to several magazines, such as Disco Magazine. In 1982, he founded Rasta Magazine, a comics magazine which ran for three issues. As a comic artist and comic journalist, writing about the comics scene in the Congo, he worked for newspapers Salongo (1986 until 1996), Le Soir du Galibo (1994 until 1996) and several others. In 1993, he co-founded OAR (Organisation des Artistes Réunis), an organisation for the promotion of comics, of which he later became president. In the same year, he founded the Studio Béd'Art.

Asimba Bathy is one of the driving forces in comics in the Congo, not just by creating them, but also by promoting them through his national and international publications about Congolese comics.
