Alfred Pascual i Benigani was a self-taught Spanish artist. After completing his military service in Africa, he began his artistic career drawing for Apa's magazine Papitu. In the following years, he began collaborations with magazines like Las Noticias, Treball, Xut!, L'Opinió and Mirador. He was a decorator for the cabarets at the Café Catalan and La Buena Sombra. When the Spanish Civil War broke out, Benigani went to England, where he worked as an illustrator for the magazine Liliput and for the beer brand Guinness.
