Comic strip by Martine Berthelemy for Le Journal de Mickey, 1957.
Martine Berthelemy studied drawing at the atelier Huguet in Paris, where she met Jacques Blondeau at the age of 18. Shortly afterwards, she helped Blondeau, who was already working for Paul Winkler's agency at the time, on the 'Lil' series published in L'Aurore from 1949 to 1951. Berthelemy then worked for Confidences and various other newspapers directed by Paul Winkler. In 1953, she began drawing realistic comics for the center pages of Le Journal de Mickey, mostly from scripts by Pierre Fallot, starting with an adaptation of J. H. Rosny Aîné's novel 'La Guerre du Feu'. She also provided illustrations for novels in Almanach du Journal de Mickey. Berthelemy worked for Le Journal de Mickey until 1973.
