Les Aberrants, by Bodart
'Les Aberrants'. Dutch-language version.

Denis Bodart studied at the Institut Saint-Luc in Brussels, and then began a short-lived career as a teacher. He soon turned to comics and made his comic debut in 1985 with 'Saint-Germaine des Morts', a comic scripted by Streng at the publishing house Bédéscope. Three years later, he teamed up with Yann, with whom he created series like 'Célestin Speculoos' in Circus and 'Nicotine Goudron' in l'Écho des Savanes, as well as one episode of 'Chaminou', a series originally created by Raymond Macherot.

From 1995 on, Bodart made an occasional appearance in Spirou with several short stories and gag pages. He experimented with several genres in albums like the science fiction story 'Les Aberrants' (script by Christian Lamquet) and 'F1 93: Prost-Senns, le Défi' (script by Lionel Froissart). In the late 1990s, he started the series 'Green Manor Club' with Fabien Vehlmann in Spirou. In 2003, he succeeded Jean-Michel Beuriot as the artist of 'Amours Fragiles' at Casterman.

Denis Bodart was an influence on Federico Bertolucci and Philippe Wurm
