Nelly Bodenheim was a Dutch painter and illustrator from Amsterdam. In the first half of the 20th century, she illustrated several books, often in silhouettes, such as 'Handje-plak' (1900), 'Het regent, het zegent' (1901), 'Raadsels' (1902), 'In Holland staat een huis' (1903), '12 Sprookjes en rijmpjes' (1908), 'Luilekkerland' (1915), 'A.B.C.' (1917), 'Groen groen grasje' (1923) and 'n Vruchtenmandje' (1927). She also made designs for needlework, posters and book covers.
Together with a group of Art Academy friends, she formed the artistic group the Amsterdam Joffers. They held several collective expositions and were rolemodels for a new generation of female artists.
