La Team

Wassim Boutaleb is a French-Moroccan comic artist and illustrator, whose work is inspired by poetry and humour. He was born in Morocco and raised in Paris. He works in several techniques and with several materials, including wood carvings, "Bic on paper" and sketchbooks. He graduated in animation from the École des Gobelins in 2008, and made his mark with the fake advertising film 'Pepsi Green'. He later worked on real advertisements through the agency Fred & Farid.

In 2012, Gallimard Jeunesse released his comic album 'La Team: Gang of Paname', about a gang of wannabe bad boys. It was followed in 2013 by the Christmas comic 'Opération Père Noël' at Bang Ediciones La Migration. He launched his fanzine La Folle Journée de Charlie through Vide Cocagne in September of that same year. He also published his poetic and graphical book 'Grands mots, petites phrases' with this publisher. Boutaleb has participated in several collective books, such as 'Alimentation Générale 5', and the digital journals Mauvais Esprit and Professeur Cyclope. He regularly works for the youth press as illustrator. His art has appeared in Tchô Mag, Astrapi and J'aime Lire.
