Elsa Brants was born in Montpellier. She decided to become a comic artist at age 12, after discovering the work of Gotlib and Rumiko Takahashi. In her early twenties she was contributing to a fanzine, where she met her future husband, Guillaume Lapeyre. Brants does the coloring for her husband's series 'Les Chroniques de Magon', and for several other comic series. She teamed up with writer Nykko to create the poetic series 'Lily' in the collection Puceron of Editions Dupuis from 2009 to 2011. She joined Kana Éditions for her manga-inspired solo series 'Save Me Pythie', that started in 2014. Brants also drew the volume 'Les ex' in the humour series 'Vie de merde' by Jungle! in 2013.
