Takkers Kareltje by Bruintje
'Takkers Kareltje'.

Bruintje was the pseudonym of a late 20th-century Belgian cartoonist, who drew propaganda comics for De Taktivist, the house magazine of the radical Flemish-nationalist movement Taal Aktie Komitée (TAK).

Life and career
Almost nothing is known about the life, career and identity of Bruintje. He was most likely Flemish and his pseudonym appears to have been derived from the derogatory nickname for people with far-right opinions: "bruinen" ("brown ones"). In the 1970s, he drew several comics and cartoons for De Taktivist, the bi-monthly house magazine of the organization Taal Aktie Komitee (TAK). The Taal Aktie Komitee advocates Flemish-nationalist, separatist viewpoints and promotes Dutch in and above the Belgian language border. During the 1970s and 1980s, they often made headlines through their violent protests and actions.

In De Taktivist, Bruintje drew the gag comic 'Takkers Kareltje'. The title character was a young Fleming who tricks the police, Walloons and left-wing people. It is unknown whether Bruintje made comics outside this magazine. In 1997, a small compilation of his cartoons was published.
