Byun Ki-Hyun is a graduate from the comics department of the University of Sangmyung. He began his career contributing several short stories to Korean magazines. These stories were later collected in the book 'Lotto Blues'. Another book by Byun Ki-hyun is 'Cat Z'. Together with his friend Choi Kyu-sok, with whom he made 'Nouilles Tchajang', he is part of the avant-garde of a new generation of Korean comic artists.
