Joaquín Cera was a regular contributor to the magazine Mortadelo Especial (a magazine based on the characters of Francisco Ibáñez). He made his debut in the magazine in 1986 with the short story 'Capitán Fundimoso'. The same year, he came up with the super hero parody 'Pafman'. This series was later continued at Top Comics. In cooperation with fellow artist Juan Carlos Ramis, he revived the classic Escobar creation 'Zipi y Zape' at Ediciones B.
