'Le Bel Âge'.

Merwan Chabane is a graduate of the École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs in Paris. He also attended the École des Gobelins, before beginning his career within the video game and animation industries. In 2002, he made his mark with his graduation film 'Biotope'. Later film projects include 'Clichés de Soirée' and 'Lascars'.

He made his comics debut with the series 'Pankat - Fausse Garde' at Vents d'Ouest in 2004. He then cooperated with Fabien Bedouel on the artwork of the World War I comic 'L'Or et de Sang' (2009-2014), written by Maurin Defrance and Fabien Nury for 12bis. Merwan, who mostly signs with just his first name, worked with Bastien Vivès on the trilogy 'Pour l'Empire' (Dargaud, 2010-2011), and has served as scriptwriter for David Alapont ('L'Ourso' at 12bis) and Bertrand Gatignol ('Pistouvi' at Dargaud). Dargaud published his solo work 'Le Bel Âge between 2012 and 2014.
