'Bourbon Street'.
Alexis Chabert was born in 1962 in Paris. He studied Fine Arts in Versailles, but left after only a couple of months to study classical guitar at the Conservatorium of Music. He returned to comics and art however, although he also continued to make music. He worked with a graphic studio for six years, while working on a comics project with his friend Eric Suchère. He teamed up with writer Didier Convard after presenting his work to publisher Delcourt. Chabert and Convard made four books of the medieval comic series 'Rogon le Leu' between 1995 and 2001, and a fifth installment in the series was drawn by Sébastien Cosset.

Chabert additionally worked with Bertrand Escaich on the children's comic book 'Noémie' for Pointe Noire in 2001. Two years later, he created 'La Prophétie des Deux Mondes' with Frédéric Lenoir, a heroic fantasy comic published by Albin Michel until 2008. Chabert and Lenoir were also present in L'Écho des Savanes magazine with 'L'Élu', a satirical comic about George W. Bush. In 2009, Chabert worked with François Dimberton on the graphic novel 'Taxi Molloy', published by Bamboo.
'Noémie'.
Chabert could express his passion for music in his next graphic novel, 'Bourbon Street', set in New Orleans. It was written by Philippe Charlot and published by Bamboo in two books in 2011 and 2012. Chabert then teamed up with writer Michaël Sztanke for 'La Faute, Une Vie en Corée du Nord', a "docu-fiction" about life in North Korea (Delcourt, 2014). He worked with Dimberton again on comic books about comedian Louis de Funès (Delcourt, 2014) and singer Serge Gainsbourg (Jungle!, 2015).
