Le Guide de la Jeune Mère

Bertrand Escaich is a comic book writer and occasional artist, best-known for writing with Caroline Roque under the joint signature Béka. Escaich started his career as one of the artists for the Vents d'Ouest humor series 'Le mini-guide du'. He also made the drawings for Jacky Goupil's 'Le Guide de la Jeune Mère' in 2000. He then focused on scriptwriting, starting with the children's comic 'Noémie' for Alexis Chabert at Pointe Noire in 2001. He has since then worked extensively for Éditions Bamboo.

Solo, he wrote the fantasy comic 'Les Brunes de Miroboland' for Alexandre Mermin (2003-2004) and 'Chinn' for Fred Vervisch (2008). He is however mainly known for his co-productions with graduated scientist Caroline Roque, under the joint pen name Béka. Together they are responsible for a variety of Bamboo series, including the commercially successful 'Studio Danse' (with Crip) and 'Les Rugbymen' (with Poupard). Their longest running collaborations are however 'Les Fonctionnaires', that they make with artist Bloz since 2003, and 'Les Foot-Maniacs', subsequently with Jack and Olivier Saive, since 2004.
