Born in Marseille, Bernard Chiavelli studied Fine Arts in this city for two years, before he went to study Plastic Arts in Paris. In the late 1970s, he began drawing for the magazine Pistil. Afterwards, he created 'Baby Lone' in Nouvelles Orléans. He then started to work for Pilote. In 1988, he published 'Anatolie' at the publishing house Futuropolis. Between 1987 and 1991, he drew three albums in the series 'Arthur R' at Dargaud. In 1994, he started writing the series 'Elodie' for Philippe Marcelé in Fluide Glacial.
