After his studies, Franco Chiletto worked as an illustrator of advertisements and children's books for a while. He drew his first comics for Il Corriere dei Piccoli and L'Audace. In the second half of the 1930s, he did his best work for Topolino, like 'Alla Conquista di un Impero' and the long series 'Corsari Salgariani'.
In the 1940s, he drew 'Ad Andus e Ad Anubi' with scripts by Gianluigi Bonelli for Il Vittorioso. He continued Rino Albertarelli's 'Il Dottor Faust' after World War II. Soon afterwards, he moved to Trentino, where he spent the rest of his days painting.
