The Ripples (16-03-1941)
George Clark was born in Oklahoma, and published his first cartoons in the Daily Oklahoman. His first syndicated cartoon was 'Side Glances' in 1929. Clark is best known for the family cartoon panel 'The Neighbors', that appeared in the New York Daily News from 1939. Shortly afterwards, he added a Sunday strip to the News comics supplement, called 'Our Neighbors the Ripples', later shortened to 'The Ripples'. The Sunday page was dropped in 1948, but the daily panel continued until 1971.
