Les Aventures de Télé, by Olivia Clavel

Olivia Clavel was born in Paris, and studied at the Paris School of Fine Arts in the mid-1970s. She was a member of the Bazooka Group, a collective that caused a small revolution in the French comics scene of the 1970s. Other group members were Lulu Larsen, Loulou Picasso, Bernard Vidal, Jean Rouzaud and Kiki Picasso.

Télé, by Olivia Clavel (1970)

In addition to the work of the other group members, Clavel's art is more true to the traditional comic book style. She used the character 'Télé', that portrayed events about her daily life. Her work was published in Métal Hurlant from 1976, and from a year later, also in Charlie Mensuel. Throughout the 1980s and 1990s, she was involved with several underground projects in cooperation with artists like Max, Pyon and Pascal Doury.

She was one of several artists to make a graphic contribution to ‘Pepperland’ (1980), a collective comic book tribute to the store Pepperland, to celebrate its 10th anniversary at the time.
