Grand Coeur
Not much is known about the artist Jenny Collette. Together with Marie Jaminet and Minou, she was among the few female illustrators of Grand Coeur (1945-1947). According to the book 'Dictionnaire Illustré de la Bande Dessinée Belge de la Libération aux Fifties (1945-1950) by Frans Lambeau, she was married to Charles Gilbert, the comic artist and editor of Grand Coeur. This short-lived comic magazine was created by Charles Gilbert in collaboration with Étienne Lamarche, publisher of the newspaper La Gazette de Liège. A large part of the material in Grand Coeur was provided by Charles Gilbert and students from his graphic arts atelier in Liège, and apparently he also had his wife join in on the production.

Serialized in Grand Coeur issues #27 through #50 of 1946, Collette's adventure serial 'L'Héritière de Ker Naho' is set in Brittany, where a young girl called Joëlle is kidnapped through the secret passage ways of Ker Naho castle. The girl's mother organizes a rescue mission and entrusts the chase to the shepherd who witnessed the abduction from afar. When the girl is saved, the shepherd is rewarded by the King of France in person. And by the time she has grown up, Joëlle marries her savior.
