Donald Duck, by José Colomer Fonts

The Catalan artist José Colomer Fonts started out doing stories like 'Chiton Se Rueda!', 'Gaspar Mastropicio' and 'Publicidad OK' for Spanish comic books in the 1970s. He was affiliated with Francisco Bargadà's Studio Recreo between 1978 and 1983, where he produced comics art in various styles and genres for various European publishers. He has worked extensively in Disney comics, illustrating stories for the Italian, Danish as well as the Dutch publishers.

Between 1981 and 1983, he anonymously illustrated several stories with 'Mickey Mouse', 'Donald Duck' and 'Uncle Scrooge' for the Italian publisher Mondadori in Topolino and Almanacco Topolino. From 1982, he was also present in the Dutch Donald Duck weekly with 'José Carioca' and 'Donald Duck'. He also took on 'Duck' stories for Denmark. He began working independently for the Italian Topolino in 1988, while continuing his contribution to Denmark and Holland.
