Alejandro Colucci was born in Montevideo, Uruguay. He learned drawing and painting from the local teacher Alvaro Fontana from 1984. From 1990 he began his career as an advertising illustrator in his native Montevideo. He also took on graphic design in 1994 and, interested to do comics, he went to the USA to show his work to Marvel, DC and Image. From 1996 to 2000 he worked for several Uruguayan publishers, illustrating mainly cultural subjects. His work earned Colucci several awards. He then began working as an illustrator for several North American publishers and Star Drawings in Barcelona. He has illustrated among others the 'Infernalia' comic series.
