Julius Hofnar, by Corver

Cor Versteeg was born in Utrecht. He began his career as an artist at the promotional departments of Douwe Egberts and De Gruyter. This included the series of eight children's booklets starring 'Kabouter Krikmik', that he made with René Cooijmans in 1969. With Frits Verhorst, Versteegh had made his first comic earlier on in 1955, called 'Kareltje Kloek en de Multihoed', and published in Utrechts Katholiek Dagblad. He also made 'Mies Helena' for Het Blad voor de Huisvrouw and 'Julius Hofnar' in Taptoe.
