Gino Cossio is the third of the Cossio brothers active in the comics field; his older brothers Carlo and Vittorio are both Italian comic artist. Hebegan his career during World War II, when he drew the album 'Un'Avventura sul Potomac' for the publishing house Edital. He eventually went to work for the publishing house Alpe, where he drew the series 'Ipnos', which was scripted by Gianluigi Bonelli. He also drew 20 albums of 'Dick Lepre' for Editrice Tomasina. During the early 1950s, he made the short-lived series 'Il Leone del Tigrai' for Edizioni Gioventù and 'La Regina dei Tapanhunas' for Alpe. He then created 'Ruzzolino' for the magazine Crì Crì, published by Dardo from 1954. His final comics work were the series 'Silver' (1959) and 'Z 5 Vampir' (1965).
