Magica Aventura, by Cruz Delgado

Cruz Delgado studied at the School of Fine Arts in Madrid, the city where he was born. He then worked as an illustrator of juvenile stories for many years, before he focused on animation. For four years, he worked at the animation department of Estudios Moro. In 1961, he went to work at the Belvision studios in Brussels. He returned to Spain in 1963, and began his own studios. He produced his first short animation film 'El Gato con Botas', and made advertising films and short cartoons. For the Spanish television, he made several episodes of 'Molécula' in 1968. In 1972, he made his first long animated feature film, 'Mágica Aventura', with a script by Gustavo Alcalde. The story was also made into a comic, that was published among others in Gente Menuda, the comics supplement of Los Domingos de ABC.

Shortly afterwards, Delgado made his second feature film, 'El Desván de la Fantasia'. In 1978, he co-produced a series of 39 episodes for television, called 'Don Quijote de La Mancha'. He continued to make animated films in the 1980s, including 'Los Viajes de Gulliver' and 'Los Cuatro Músicos de Bremen'. Cruz Delgado has also been working as a teacher.
