After graduating in illustration in Hamburg in 1991, Andreas Dierßen made his debut with 'Liebe, Tod, und andere Grausamkeiten' in Germany, followed by 'Mild & Sanft' in 1992. In 1996, Dierßen made his debut in Japan in the magazine Morning. In Japan, he is known as the father of 'Kunz' (published by Kodansha), the Derrick of Japanese comics. Other works include 'Cohn und Markowitz: Ladykillers' (Carlsen, 1998, together with Jürgen Mick) and 'Die Nachtjäger' (Zwerchfell, 2000). His comics and cartoons have also been published by U-Comix, Metal Hurlant, Stern and Cosmopolitan. For his graphic style, Dierßen has been called a "master of watercolor".
