Scott Dikkers is an American comedy writer, filmmaker and cartoonist. He is co-founder and editor of The Onion, a digital media company that brings satirical news items since 1989. He also written feature films like 'Spaceman' (1997) and 'Bad Meat' (2003), and is co-author of several humor books.
Dikkers is also the creator of the comic strip 'Jim's Journal', that first appeared in The Daily Cardinal newspaper of the University of Wisconsin–Madison in 1988. It ran in college newspapers until 1997, and has been collected in book format by Andrews McMeel. Just like The Onion is for news, the strip and its dull main character is actually parody of typical comic strips in a style that the author calls "anti-humor". 'Jim's Journal' has been running on GoComics since 2011.
