Stéphane Dubois had his artistic education in Sèvers and at the École Olivier de Serres. He entered the comics field with the help of Claude Auclair. From 1982 on, he cooperated on the fanzine Frilouz. He then settled in La Rochelle, where he worked as an illustrator and art teacher. Back in Paris in 1987, he returned to comics. In 1992, he created the series 'Mérite Maritime' with scriptwriter Alain Riondet at Casterman.
